Accessing Library Resources off Campus
- Access databases from the A to Z List, or this course guide, not from a bookmark.
The library uses a tool called EZ Proxy, a web proxy server that allows access from outside the library’s computer network. To access a particular database or journal, simply click on its name from the AtoZ list or a results link from OlinScholar. If prompted, enter your Olin login and password (the same login credentials you use to log into your Olin computer).
ScienceDirect
You must register a separate account for ScienceDirect, using your Olin email, to request articles.
ScienceDirect is different than our other resources. Due to prohibitively high subscription costs, we use a purchase-request model for this product, instead of offering full-text access.
- Go to https://libguides.olin.edu/sciencedirect
- Click "Register" in the top right corner
- On the following page, selet "sign in via your institution" at the bottom of the text box
- Enter your Olin email
- Check your inbox for the confirmation email. Follow its instructions to complete your registration
- Congrats, you're registered!
- When you find an article you like, click "Get Access" and then "Request Document"
- Fill out and submit the form. We'll fulfill your request as soon as we can
